Not sand at all, but powdered spore-humus from the coastal undergrowth of the Jundark, a mix dried stranglemoss shavings and tiny thornfruit seeds. When thrown, it clings to skin and cloth, expanding in sticky tendrils that grasp and burn like jellyfish stingers. An excellent escape tool for any aspiring thief.
